Big Changes Underway at Eclectic LAB Anti-Mall
02.07.25
The LAB Anti-Mall, celebrating over 30 years at its Bristol Street location in South Coast Metro, is gearing up for exciting changes. As of February 1, its longtime anchor tenant, Urban Outfitters, has departed the property, making way for renovations that will welcome new tenants.
Linda Sadeghi, original owner, shared:
"When we sought Urban as our anchor many years ago, it was for their first store in OC, and they were privately owned. Thirty years later, they are now an international public conglomerate with over 700 stores worldwide. No longer quite the 'local entrepreneur' that we built our business to support."
(Note: The LAB stands for "Little American Business.")
Plans are in motion to redesign the former Urban Outfitters space, creating opportunities for multiple local businesses to join the LAB’s eclectic community. Current tenants include Habana, Buffalo Exchange, Seabirds, Eco-Now, Nook Coffee, Kuro Pizza, and the Michelin-rated Hana Re, among others. Kiosk artists feature Crème Tangerine, May-Martin, and Plant Matter. For the full directory, visit thelab.com.
"We’re creating peekaboo windows so our patrons can witness the creative remodel process," added Linda. "Look for announcements of new retail and services coming in the weeks ahead, with openings by year-end!"
The LAB Anti-Mall is at 2930 Bristol St, Costa Mesa.
